The New Covenant

I used to think that the New Covenant or Testament had replaced the Old Covenant or Testament. But I didn’t understand what New and Old really was. But now the Holy Spirit has opened my eyes to a new dimension of understanding what the New Covenant really is.

This has been by Revelation because it goes against the grain of mainstream teaching from flesh and blood. But not surprisingly, this Holy Spirit given perspective, totally agrees with the interpretation of Jeremiah 31:31-34Jeremiah 31:31-34
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: 32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: although...: or, should I have continued an husband unto them? 33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. 34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

by the writer of Hebrews in 8:8-12. I can’t wait to share it with you.

1) The Main point is that the so called Brit cHadasha of Jer 31:31-34Jer 31:31-34

is about the SECOND PRIESTHOOD COVENANT (Melchizedek).

Lets go verse by verse and you shall see what I am talking about

Heb 8:6Heb 8:6

But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.

The use of the words ministry and mediator should start giving us the hint that it is about the Priesthood.

Heb 8:7Heb 8:7
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.

WP-Bible plugin
For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.

First and Second should make us aware that this is about the first and second Priesthood. Note that the Abramic Covenant was third since the land covenant with Adam was first and the Noah covenant was second…..and there will be a covenant of Shalom in the future. So speaking of First and Second is a huge hint that this is talking about the First and Second Priesthood.

Heb 8:8Heb 8:8

Now if perfection had been attainable through the Levitical priesthood (for under it the people received the law), what further need would there have been for another priest to arise after the order of Melchizedek, rather than one named after the order of Aaron?

A Jew gave an answer with a question

Heb 8:10Heb 8:10

What is this talking about? Atonement Sacrifice once and for all! This is still about the Priesthood duties.

In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

Notice the language again: “the first,” what is this first? The everlasting covenant with Abram? Of course not! If the first everlasting covenant was with Adam and then the second everlasting covenant was with Noah. What can be vanishing away, the everlasting covenant with Abram?

No, the writer was witnessing the Roman Legions taking position to surround and destroy Jerusalem. This is a letter of comfort to the Jews who were losing hope. This letter is saying, do not worry about the temple and the Priesthood, we have a High Priest and a Temple in heaven. The earthly Temple service was decayed, waxed old and ready to be destroyed by the Romans as Yahushua prophesied. The first is the first priesthood and the second is the everlasting priesthood of the Melchizedek order.

2) The New Covenant is not a covenant that replaces or revokes the everlasting covenant with Abram….

In the old Priesthood the priests could not fully identify with the sinner because they were forbidden from eating the sacrifices when the blood was sprinkled over the mercy seat inside the second veil. In the new priesthood covenant if you do not eat from the flesh and blood of Messiah (who is the ultimate atonement sacrifice) represented in the bread and wine then you have no business with Him. Eating His flesh and blood is also to eat His words and from all of Tanakh, appointed times and testimonies of the Good News that speak of Messiah throughout the scriptures.

We wash each other’s feet because dust gets attached to our feet during our walk. This Midrash that we are doing here is fulfilling this obligation to wash each other’s feet. The water is the Word.

I have more to share about the everlasting Covenant in the Tanakh and in the Good News but this is good for now.
